Page announces new Director of Healthcare
A strategic new hire will lead Page's Healthcare market sector team in the East Region. Brian Martin, AIA, NCARB, EDAC, LEED AP, is the newest Page Principal and will be based out of the firm's Washington DC office. He joins a historically robust studio as Page has been recognized as a leader in the healthcare design industry since the mid-1900s. As Director of Healthcare, Brian will continue Page's tradition of design that makes lives better for patients and their families, healthcare providers and facility administrators.
He has led design teams in the development of complex projects varying in scale, from new design and construction to the expansion and renovation of hospitals, medical office buildings, specialty hospitals and cancer centers. Brian’s passion for the rigorous integration of user experience into design is evident in his award-winning work.
Addressing big problems
Over the course of his career, he has moved from designing buildings to developing processes focused on client’s specific project goals. He strives to provide facilities that empower clients to operate a system of environments that are both integrated and customizable. They need to be structurally homogeneous enough to address big problems of payer markets, population health and wellness but also flexible enough to embrace diverse care cultures so they can be implemented, maintained and thrive.
The source of success
Brian was drawn to healthcare design early in his career because the complexity, rich programming and rigid structure of the projects all drive his creativity. Even within the same project type, numerous variables related to client needs require measured solutions to address differing design challenges. He explains his success comes from focusing his efforts on defining the design problem for clients so their investment will have a lasting and significant impact, and empower their staff.
