The NYC studio is known for thoughtful solutions to complex design challenges, with a deep and diverse portfolio of civic, cultural, academic, research, industrial, and residential work. Landmark projects include the US Pavilion at Expo ‘70 in Osaka, Japan, the MLK Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change, the National September 11 Memorial Museum, and the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture. A City within the City

The John Paulson Center is a multi-faceted 735,000 sf mixed-use project that graciously accommodates NYU’s academic needs, optimizes interactions between diverse student groups and academic disciplines, and embodies the University’s vibrancy and unique character. It offers new ways for the University to engage with the surrounding community and the city of New York.

Memory, Authenticity, Scale & Emotion

Descending 70’ to the original footprint of the WTC towers, the 110,000 sf National September 11 Memorial Museum gives access to the monumental underground site where remnants of the original towers frame the story of the attacks, confronting the physical void left after the recovery, and eliciting collective and personal memories of the event.

It operates simultaneously as a museum, a memorial, and a space for cross-cultural collaboration.
