Page has extensive experience with emergency department planning, free-standing emergency clinics, as well as ED expansions and renovations. From our experience, we understand the primary goals of emergency departments. Our Emergency Department design options include physician-in-triage and more traditional nursing-led models, all of which allow the Emergency Department staff to immediately decant infectious patients the moment that they enter the facility. However, beyond the initial operational environment, we recognize the need for facilities to be flexible to adjust to technological, demographic, operational and even legislative changes.

This is a tall order, and is best accomplished when facilities and building structures utilize modular designs that allow for easy repurposing of spaces. Thinking well in advance of how rooms and/or infrastructure can grow—up or out – is paramount to future flexibility. The facilities must be able to expand and breathe – both throughout the variable workweek and the unknown future. It is our goal to provide clients with accurate information, clear processes, and the tools to determine which approach provides the most appropriate clinical and financial solutions.
