Advances in healthcare continue to expand what’s possible in the ambulatory / outpatient care environment. Health systems are building ambulatory care facilities throughout their communities, rather than just the main hospital campus — patient convenience and a healthcare organization’s visibility in the community are now key factors in choosing ambulatory care sites. At Page we recognize this need for visibility within the community and making these facilities convenient, accessible and flexible for the services they will provide.

Healthcare buildings are designed to remain for decades, yet the interior environment needs to adapt and change at the same pace our processes evolve with new technology and operations. A consideration is integrating an “Adaptable Core” which locates major fixed elements along a perimeter edge of the primary functional areas, elements such as stairs, elevators, mechanical shafts and electrical / telecommunication spaces. This concept permits future configuration of new spaces within the core to accommodate needed functions without having to work around major obstacles.
