Page Strengthens Presence with Significant Investment in Denver
Recognizing the dynamism of Denver and the Rocky Mountain region, Page made a strategic decision to invest in a significant expansion of the capabilities of its Denver office. That investment comes in the form of expanded leadership and broader technical capabilities.
Joining the Page/Denver office are Matt Edmonds, Keith Conrad, Jay Sabatini and Drew LaBarge. Matt is an Associate Principal and Senior Project Architect whose experience includes the University of Colorado (CU) Boulder Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics Space Technology Research, UCCS Osborne Center for Science and Engineering, City of Aurora Public Safety Training Center and the Rodolfo “Corky” Gonzales Denver Public Library. Senior Project Manager Keith Conrad has more than 35 years of project delivery experience across multiple building types and market sectors. Associate Principal and Business Development Director Jay Sabatini, the son of an architect, has spent his life immersed in the design world offering over 20 years industry experience. Senior Marketing Coordinator Drew LaBarge has a long history in the Denver design community.
These four individuals join the office leadership team of Peter Stavenger, Stuart Crawford and Jennifer Grant. As a Page Principal, Peter Stavenger specializes in leading large, complex projects including convention centers, airports and aviation-related facilities, including the United Airlines Flight Training Center in Denver. Page/Denver Design Director and Associate Principal Stuart Crawford has been involved in significant projects at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, including the Fulginiti Pavilion for Bioethics and Humanities and the UCCS Osborne Center for Science and Engineering. Associate and Senior Design Architect Jennifer Grant has a particular focus on the design of student life and housing projects with work throughout Colorado, California and a number of other states.
As a further indication of the importance of the Denver office to Page, Board member and Senior Principal Michael Mace, who heads the Science and Technology market sector for Page nationally, is now based in Denver. Michael brings outstanding management leadership as well as extensive experience in the delivery of data centers, semiconductor and cleanroom manufacturing for clients such as Hospital Corporation of America, Hewlett-Packard, Samsung, Intel, Dell Computer and United Airlines.
Mace strongly believes that building for the future is best based on a history of solid client relationships and outstanding project delivery. Notable among the current Page/Denver projects is the renovation of the United Airlines Pilot Training Center to accommodate the national consolidation of pilot training operations, the recently completed UCCS Village at Alpine Valley student housing and Roaring Fork dining projects and the currently under construction Office of the Medical Examiner for the City and County of Denver. Recent projects have also included multiple renovations for CU Denver, which reimaged administrative offices, as well as the consolidation of various groups including Facilities Management, Office of Institutional Planning, Office of Information Technology and the Colorado Center for Personalized Medicine. A successful firm is all about collaboration Mace believes. “Without question, it is the ability of the owner, architect, and contractor to enter into a collaborative relationship that determines the success of any project. Collaboration means not only sitting at the same table talking, but each party understanding and respecting the strengths and needs of the other.”
Significant among the recently completed Page/Denver projects is the 1000 Speer multi-family project. The building, which houses224 units and rises 16 stories, recently sold for the highest price-per-door of any market rate multi-family project in Denver’s history. Located just blocks away, is the Page-designed Acoma multi‑family project which was one of the projects that helped spark the redevelopment of the Golden Triangle Area. The design of housing facilities has long been a main stay of the Page/Denver office. Notable examples include the 207-bed/600-place dining Elm Hall at the Colorado School of Mines, the 420-bed Great Basin Hall at the University of Nevada Reno, the 780-bed Shocker Hall at Wichita State University, and the 753-bed student housing village at Colorado State University Pueblo.
Page is committed to involvement in the communities in which it is located and Denver is no exception. John Littlejohn, Page National Director of Strategic Marketing, serves on the executive committee for the new Downtown Denver Partnership 5280 Loop project as well as on the Economic Development Committee. Pete Stavenger serves on the Downtown Denver Partnership Public Realm Council and is a board member of the Cherry Creek Schools Foundation. Stuart Crawford is a former member of the Lakewood Planning Commission. Jay Sabatini serves as Director at Large on the Society for Marketing Professional Services Colorado Chapter Board of Directors, is a Colorado Chapter Mentor and was recently named Colorado Chapter 2017 Business Developer of the Year. Keith Conrad founded the Boulder/Denver Architects Group, a professional networking organization which currently has more than 1,700 members.
Founded in 1898, Page with offices in Denver and five other United States locations as well as an international office and affiliates in the Middle East, is one of the longest continuously operating architectural firms in the United States.
