Rosalyn Rojmar On Page Electrical Engineering
Rosalyn Rojmar is a Graduate Electrical Engineer at Page. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Texas Tech University and has been working in the engineering profession for almost a decade now. She talks about working at Page and why she enjoys challenging projects and the comradery of our MEP team.
Why did you choose to work at Page?
I chose to work at Page simply because I knew the work would challenge me and really take me out of my comfort zone. Having gotten my degree in industrial engineering, an entirely different field, I knew Page was willing to invest and believe in me. However, the people and the culture are what make Page one of the leading AE firms in the country.
What is it like to work on the Page MEP team?
At Page, I am surrounded by some of the greatest and hard-working minds in the industry and I also call them friends. I am always learning and having fun at the same time. The MEP team takes great pride in seeing our colleagues succeed, so there’s a deep sense of accountability and comradery.
What do you recommend recent graduates look for when considering a firm?
If you’re not 100 percent positive on what you want to do, that’s ok. Find a firm that will challenge you and that will invest in you. Find a firm that will play to your strengths but can also help develop your weaknesses. If you’re a great communicator but lack technical skills, make sure you can earn opportunities to present in front of clients and ask for an experienced mentor who can give you opportunities to grow and learn.
What do you most enjoy about working in the engineering profession/industry?
My favorite part of engineering is working in a team environment and seeing the ideas and hard work come to life. I am privileged to work with new cutting-edge technology and to be able to use my imagination to apply the technology to real world applications.
Briefly describe a recent favorite project.
My favorite projects are renovations because they really exercise the mind. They involve heavy problem solving and detective skills. Not every project will give you all the puzzle pieces, so it’s our job to find creative solutions that work for our clients, meet required codes/standards and are cost effective.
