Delaney Roberts RID, NCIDQ
Associate / Designer
Delaney describes her core strengths as her work ethic, willingness to take on leadership duties and her ability to communicate and collaborate with her clients and design teams. She prides herself in creating an enthusiastic and positive team environment.
“My favorite thing about being a designer is the interaction—especially with the clients,” she explains. “I really love being able to hear their stories and connect with people personally while bringing their space to life. For me, this interaction lets me listen a lot to what people are about and what they are hoping for in the project. I am not pushing my own agenda, I am trying to make their space theirs.”
Delaney has been involved in all aspects of the design process, from programming to substantial completion for a variety of projects in our corporate/commercial and academic market sectors. She has also worked on numerous furniture projects. Delaney enjoyed two recent opportunities to stay connected to her alma matter through her work on The University of Texas System Replacement Office Building and the Health Learning Building The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School. Her other projects include Charles Schwab headquarters campus, Viasat College station campus and multiple locations for the FIRMSPACE offices.
When she is not working, Delaney loves to travel. “It makes me feel like I get to step into an alternate personality where I don’t have to have everything scheduled and I can explore and find new things about myself,” she says. She has recently traveled to Italy and is already planning her second trip; she also enjoys the quiet beaches of the Caribbean.
Exercise is another hobby for Delaney and she makes sure that her schedule includes group workouts with friends, long walks with her dog and weight training with her husband. “Exercise is fun. For me is time with people I care about and I am doing something healthy,” she explains. In general, Delaney approaches everything she does with curiosity, enthusiasm and balance. This approach and the fact that she enjoys getting to know people help make her a great designer.
