Central Services / Marketing Coordinator
Lisa Versaci has an open mindset, which serves her well in her role as Marketing Coordinator and general go-to person for information. She explains by way of a personal story, “One particularly cold morning I bought a cup of coffee for a homeless man who usually sits on a bench near my ferry terminal. He thanked me, but replied that he had been fortunate enough to sleep in a shelter the previous evening, while the woman sitting two benches down from him had not been so lucky, and suggested I give the coffee to her.”
It reminded her that even those who have almost nothing can still afford to be generous, and that things are not always as they initially seem. That ties in with one of her favorite inspirational quotes by Albert Einstein, “Imagination is more important than knowledge.”
It’s necessary for Lisa to track multiple tasks and topics simultaneously, but she enjoys it, citing a favorite submission of qualifications for the large-scale, complex CSU San Bernardino Major Master Plan Revision. It was a highly collaborative learning experience for her, but she is used to expecting the best of her colleagues and the best possible outcome because she is committed to delivering her very best – on every project.
Lisa is also committed to improving her community outside of her role on an urban planning and urban design team through her volunteer involvement with CUESA (Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture). The non-profit runs the San Francisco Farmer's Market and raises money for food-related causes from stopping hunger to supporting organic farming to providing educational classes.
