Associate / Mechanical Engineer
Richard discovered an affinity for engineering when he spent a school summer break installing air conditioners in cars for a dealership. He enjoyed the experience so much that he chose to pursue an Associates’ Degree in HVAC Technologies and spent the next few years installing and serving HVAC equipment.
After a tour in the Marine Corps, Richard earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Arlington and entered the engineering side of the HVAC industry in 2000. Since then he has honed his skills in a broad range of market sectors.
Today, his resume includes HVAC system designs on large, complex projects in Healthcare, Petrochemical and Academic. He describes his career arc, "As I've gained experience in the design of complex HVAC systems I've shifted my focus to energy-efficiency/sustainable system design. This has allowed me to be successful in helping my clients realize energy efficient design and operation of their HVAC systems."
