Robert Reid AIA, NCARB, LEED AP
Associate Principal / Technical Director
Robert has over four decades of experience on a variety of projects, including as a team leader on commercial, government, educational, research and development and healthcare facilities. In his role as Technical Director, Robert ensures that documents adhere to the clients’ and Page’s published standards for quality management in all phases of project delivery. Robert is a proponent of the use of BIM as part of the quality assurance process, encouraging its implementation in the design and documentation process as well as during construction activities. Additionally, Robert serves as a mentor, sharing his experience with others, both on an individual basis and in group activities.
Prior to joining Page, Robert was a Senior Vice President and Technical Director at HOK Houston, where he helped implement firm wide quality standards and procedures. After twenty five years with HOK, Robert retired in 2011, and moved his family to their second home in western Maine. However, retirement was short lived. Robert was recruited as the Architectural Department Manager at WBRC Architects and Engineers in Bangor, Maine, where his responsibilities were supervising the architectural and interiors staff, quality management, mentorship and serving as Architect of Record on numerous projects across the state of Maine. While in Bangor, Robert became involved in local community affairs, and was appointed by the mayor and city council as a commissioner on the Bangor Historic Preservation Committee.
In 2014, family matters brought Robert and his family back to Houston. Robert reconnected with many former colleagues when he joined the Page team upon his return to Texas. His commitment to architecture and mentoring is enhanced with the rapidly changing advances in technology and construction in the design-build industry. These are the challenges that keep Robert engaged – not just teaching, but learning.
