Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin Visual Identity
The University of Texas at Austin is the first Tier One public university in the United States to build a new medical school in almost 50 years.
The vision of the Dell Medical School is to develop new approaches for teaching, patient care, and research - all with the greater goal to transform medical education and healthcare delivery. With the intent to capture this ambitious spirit, Dyal and Partners (now Dyal Branding & Graphics, A Page Company) was charged with developing an identity for the new medical school that communicates innovation and energy and would enhance efforts to recruit faculty and students and develop groundbreaking curricula and partnerships.
Looking at everything with fresh eyes and a new start is at the heart of the mission and led to the creation of the “Rethink Everything” identity and campaign. Dyal Branding & Graphics designed various print and digital collateral pieces for the campaign, and developed extensive brand guidelines which the school has used to implement other communication pieces, including video and brochures. The campaign has become an effective tool for promoting the school and its greater vision of transforming healthcare. Community leaders have embraced the campaign as a way of talking about the medical school and its impact on the community and wellbeing of Austin.
Dell Medical School was constructed in the southeastern portion of the UT Austin campus. The school’s inaugural Fall 2016 class of students were the first users of the new building. The school includes research, educational and administrative facilities, as well as a medical office building and parking garage. Page served as architect of record and design partner for all buildings on the campus.
