Two-phase liquid immersion cooling (2-PIC) is a data center cooling methodology that provides cooling by submerging racks in a non-conductive liquid in place of traditional air-cooled methods. The following study analyzes two 36 MW data center concepts in the hypothetical project location of Quincy, WA. The two concepts included a traditional direct evaporative air-cooled data center and a 2-PIC data center, and the Page team examined each critical component of data center design: mechanical systems, electrical systems, hardware, and physical space.
