In-depth community outreach and participation informs the redesign of the existing public plaza at Mason Square to better support a range of activities and increase engagement of students, staff, and community members. In addition to supporting the multiple program functions and create an inviting civic environment, Page also aims to incorporate a native plant palette within the plaza. The redesign includes proposed native tree replacement and reduces the heat island effect of the space by replacing pavers with areas of vegetated tray systems with native plants.
