In the past several years there has been a major boom in the rates of hospital construction to replace aging facilities, support population shifts, and accommodate advancing healthcare technologies. Despite advances in technology and design, healthcare errors continue to be one of the leading causes of patient deaths. Many of these errors are linked, at least in part, to the built environment.
