1,200-SF Renovation

Page strategically renovated a lab at Johns Hopkins Medical Center to advance groundbreaking research in stem-cell-derived cardiomyocyte transplantation for controlling arrhythmias. Designed in close collaboration with JHU facilities and lab members, the compact facility now features a BSL-2 suite, high-capacity freezer storage, a dedicated cell culture area, and space for two electrophysiology rigs.

The lab accommodates a minimum of 12 staff and their applicable science specialty. The space provides a BSL-2 wet lab, cell culture, and imaging. Our team provided building system upgrades and did this six-month renovation with minimal disruption in an occupied building.

Lab planning

Performance optimization in a small space

Page engineered multiple high-efficiency layout solutions, optimizing functionality within the constraints of the current building. The selected design integrates flexible, mobile casework systems and strategically upgrades infrastructure to expand service capacity, optimize outlet placement, and future-proof the lab. This approach ensures seamless adaptability for evolving research needs and future growth and expansion. The team enhanced research functionality by transforming three separate rooms and a small sub-space into a single, cohesive facility, improving efficiency and collaboration.
