ExxonMobil engaged Page Commissioning for LEED Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning of its new 385-acre campus in Spring, Texas. The team provided full commissioning services for 23 buildings, accommodating approximately 10,000 employees. The state-of-the-art campus includes 14 office buildings, a multi-story laboratory, a 20,000-ton central plant, a wellness center, an energy center, three parking garages, a computing facility, and a childcare development center.

The building systems were designed to enhance energy efficiency through high-performance equipment and advanced control strategies. The building automation system (BAS) optimizes energy use while maintaining occupant comfort and system reliability. Page led multiple controls coordination meetings to help clarify the engineering sequence of operations to verify that the BAS controls aligned with the functional test parameters and design intent. This collaborative effort enhanced testing quality and streamlined the turnover to operations.

Streamlined Commissioning for ExxonMobil’s Massive Campus

For the ExxonMobil Houston Campus project, maintaining commissioning progress was essential for the successful delivery of the 350-acre campus, which included 23 buildings under simultaneous construction with two general contractors and multiple trade contractors. To keep the process on track, project teams relied on ongoing commissioning meetings and Page’s cloud-based commissioning software platform. This platform enabled real-time monitoring and communication between ExxonMobil, the contractors, the design team, and the commissioning team, ensuring seamless collaboration.

Field observations, construction checklists, and functional testing progress were accessible to the entire team via laptops and smartphones, allowing for instant updates and coordination. Regular commissioning meetings reinforced the owner's expectations for proper startup documentation and timely notification of testing readiness before functional testing commenced. Additionally, the team was encouraged to embrace the commissioning process and recognize its value in delivering high-quality construction projects and ensuring a smooth turnover to operations staff.
