New Classroom Building
Virginia Tech's New Classroom Building is a dynamic experiential learning hub that inspires active engagement and collaboration. At its core, a grand staircase cascades through the building, connecting active study nooks, soft-seating areas, and impromptu bar-height workspaces—all designed to fuel creativity and interaction.
Glass-walled classrooms and tech-infused meeting areas put team-based learning on display, while SCALE-UP rooms immerse students in real-world problem-solving. The "classatories"—positioned between wet labs—create flexible spaces where students in biology, chemistry, and physics seamlessly transition between computation, experimentation, and analysis within a single class period.
Built for versatility and discovery, these spaces support multiple teaching methods, empowering students to take charge of their learning and develop the skills to lead in an ever-evolving world.
Virginia Tech's New Classroom Building is a bold, high-tech learning environment, supporting multiple departments with leading-edge interdisciplinary labs, adaptive classrooms, and dynamic student spaces. Designed for connection and flexibility, it promotes collaboration between faculty and students while creating a clear, intuitive environment that evolves with emerging teaching methods and technologies.
