Maury-Brooke Hall Science Building
Founded in 1839, Virginia Military Institute (VMI) is the nation’s oldest state-supported military college. As the student body grew and cadet training requirements evolved, the institute needed modern spaces to match its expanding programs.
Page’s modernization of Maury-Brooke Hall, home to the biology and chemistry departments, accommodates the increased academic program, enhancing instructional spaces, student study areas, and department offices. New electrical and mechanical exhaust systems—complete with gasses, water upgrades, lab vacuum, and compressed air—create a safe learning environment.
Our lab planners reconfigured the building’s laboratory wing to create flexible, modern teaching and research space, while expanded power, data, and communications infrastructure further support academic demands.
With 25 laboratories, as well as classrooms, offices, and a three-bay greenhouse, the improved science building better prepares students to pursue careers in medicine, forensics, and military intelligence—setting them up for long-term success in and beyond the classroom.
