Plattsburgh Plant: Advancing Sustainable Titanium Manufacturing

Norsk Titanium’s Plattsburgh plant is built for precision and efficiency, seamlessly integrating advanced HVAC systems to maintain the controlled environment essential for the RPD® process. Designed for minimal environmental impact and maximum energy efficiency, the facility reflects Norsk Titanium’s commitment to sustainable innovation.

At the heart of the plant, real-time quality assurance technology monitors the RPD® process at an incredible 600 times per second, ensuring exceptional material properties—from tensile strength and fatigue resistance to a consistent microstructure. This rigorous oversight fuels Norsk Titanium’s ability to deliver aerospace-grade titanium parts at scale.

With each MERKE IV® machine producing up to 20 tons of titanium components annually, the plant is designed for high-output production, supporting multiple machines and reinforcing Norsk Titanium’s global production capacity of 180 tons per year. The Plattsburgh facility is a bold step forward in metallurgy and additive manufacturing, engineered to reduce costs, accelerate lead times, and minimize environmental impact.
