San Antonio Multispecialty and Research Hospital
UT Health San Antonio is “trailblazing the future of care” with a first-of-its-kind Multispecialty & Research Hospital in the Bexar County region. The hospital’s design seamlessly integrates research and patient care to enable a high-tech, high-touch approach that’s proactive, personalized, and empowering.
A center for early-phase clinical trials, the hospital advances groundbreaking treatments, including immunologic and stem cell therapies for cancer—bringing the most innovative research in South Texas directly to patients. A sky bridge connects the new hospital to the Mays Cancer Center, home to UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson, strengthening collaboration at one of only four National Cancer Institute-designated centers in Texas.
With Page’s expertise in patient-first design, the hospital seamlessly integrates convenience, safety, and sustainability—creating a place where advanced medicine and compassionate care come together to define the future of healthcare.
At the Multispecialty & Research Hospital, the design enhances healing. Warm, inviting spaces bring the outdoors in, featuring natural wood accents, terrazzo flooring, and views of preserved heritage trees. A two-story limestone wall inspired by the Texas Hill Country welcomes visitors into the main lobby, guiding them with clear wayfinding to parking, entrances, and key destinations.
Inside, private patient rooms offer ample space for medical care while ensuring a welcoming environment for family support. Thoughtful design choices—such as a sleeper couch for visitors—prioritize comfort without compromising clinical excellence.
Every detail reflects a commitment to seamless patient experiences, reinforcing the hospital’s mission to deliver world-class care in an environment designed for healing.
