Gallogly Hall
University of Oklahoma’s Engineering Academic Building is the final addition to complete the Engineering Quadrangle on the Norman campus. This state-of-the-art facility serves as a central gathering place for engineering students, fostering collaboration, innovation, and interdisciplinary learning. It houses Chemistry, Biology, and Biomedical Engineering programs, featuring research and teaching labs, specialized studio labs for hands-on experimentation, technology-rich classrooms, and a makerspace.
The Living Room, a central ground-floor collaboration space, is designed for casual interaction, team projects, informal meetings, and individual study. Flexible seating and tables allow easy reconfiguration for student, campus, and community events. A grand staircase connects students to upper-level teaching labs, promoting movement and engagement.
Planning and programming
Gallogly Hall embodies the philosophy that engineering is best learned through experience. The design supports collaborative research with OU Medicine’s Stephenson Cancer Center, advancing early cancer detection imaging tools and fusion protein cancer therapies. Thanks to Page’s thorough planning and programming process, the interdisciplinary facility also accommodates studies in diabetes prevention, biomechanics, biotechnology, and nanotechnology.
Designed to reflect OU’s Cherokee Gothic architectural heritage, Gallogly Hall’s red brick and limestone façade seamlessly integrates with the Engineering Quad. Inside, the building prioritizes innovation and collaboration, featuring flexible furnishings, interactive learning spaces, and transparent laboratories that place science and engineering on display, creating an inspiring environment for the next generation of engineers.
“A learning center, tutoring room, and staff offices provide a warm and welcoming space to house our nationally recognized program and enhance the recruitment, retention, and graduation of a diverse workforce.”Tom LandersDean Emeritus at University of Oklahoma – Gallogly College of Engineering

Sustainability
Gallogly Hall earned the University of Oklahoma its first LEED Gold certification. The 80,000-square-foot facility features an innovative hybrid HVAC system, recycled and locally sourced materials, a stormwater recovery system, and a solar-reflective roof. Over 80% of construction waste was diverted from landfills, reinforcing OU’s commitment to sustainability.
