Eagle Academy for Young Men
Eagle Academy for Young Men, an all-boys public school sponsored by 100 Black Men of New York, Inc., is dedicated to academic excellence, leadership, and character development for disadvantaged students. Located in the Tremont neighborhood of the Bronx, its unique design integrates natural vistas, leveraging its proximity to a green city park.
The replacement school features facilities for grades six through twelve, introducing a library, teleconferencing-enabled senate room, orchestra and art spaces, and science labs. A lower-level gymnasium doubles as a community hub, while a full-service cafeteria offers flexible gathering areas.
The school’s "Main Street" corridor organizes classrooms along a loft-like, adaptable layout, cultivating collaboration and engagement. Distinct brick colors define different program areas, visually reinforcing the school’s dynamic, interdisciplinary learning environment. Eagle Academy’s forward-thinking design fosters a strong, connected community, equipping students to lead confidently.

Strategically positioned to embrace its natural surroundings, the building maximizes views of the neighboring city park, offering a strong connection to nature. A central "Main Street" corridor aligns standard classrooms with clear sightlines to the park.
The building’s façade features a dynamic mix of brick colors and patterns, creating a welcoming, human-centered identity. Inside, durable tile and stone materials enhance circulation spaces, while custom-built furniture transforms study areas into inviting, high-performance learning zones. Eagle Academy’s design ensures that students and the surrounding community thrive together.
