High School for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice
Houston Independent School District’s magnet high school for law enforcement is relocating to a new, strategically positioned campus just outside downtown. With direct light rail access to the University of Houston and downtown courthouses, students gain real-world exposure to the criminal justice system.
The 115,502-square-foot school balances its curriculum around two distinct learning centers: Justice and Law. At its core, a glass-enclosed courtroom and law library create a striking architectural statement, making justice visible and accessible. Transparent walls showcase hands-on learning spaces, including a crime scene lab and 911 training center.
The campus fosters connection and encourages adaptability with academic neighborhoods, Junior ROTC and visual arts spaces, a two-sided theater, and a dynamic Main Commons. Natural light-filled classrooms, outdoor learning areas, and a green parking buffer create an engaging, high-performance environment.
