Substantially increasing medical capacities and capabilities for those stationed in Bahrain, the new Navy Medical-Dental Clinic delivers world-class care for more than 6,000 service members and their families. The multi-story clinic, which replaced an aging 1960s facility, offers primary and specialty care, including aviation medicine, behavioral health, optometry, occupational health, dental, and ancillary imaging and lab services.

Due to Bahrain’s extreme climate—with temperatures regularly exceeding 100 degrees and high humidity—the team designed building systems appropriate for the setting, including optimal window orientation. Page’s design strategically located public and patient areas to allow natural light and support healing while reducing the impact of solar heat gain. Further responding to the environment, the clinic’s exterior uses NSA Bahrain’s existing material palette, supporting a harmonious and balanced aesthetic for the naval base.

“The clinic is another testament to the solid teamwork and the impressive feats that occur when the U.S. Navy works side-by-side with our DOD contractors. We are proud to have that amazing medical care continue in this beautiful new clinic for decades to come.”
Navy Captain Greg Smith
Former NSA Bahrain Commander
